Friends of San Francisco Gymnastics (SFG)

Friends of SFG is a non-profit organization dedicated to funding the athletic development of Bay Area youth. Friends of SFG provides funding for two types of applicants: Bay Area schools and Bay Area individuals.

Friends of SFG provide mini- grants to schools that may lack the resources to offer diverse physical education units to their students. The mini-grants are designed to assists schools in raising funds for supplemental and enrichment physical education experiences by bringing outside organizations to the schools. The mini-grants can be used to bring students offsite to gyms or other facilities around the city that provide group sport lessons. Alternately, a school could use the money to pay for programs that provide unique physical education units at the schools' own facilities.

The foundation also provides individual scholarships to talented young athletes for developmental expenses. Bay Area amatuer athletes are encouraged to apply for grants to cover a variety of expenses, including instructional tuition, training needs, competition fees, and related travel expenses.

With these grants, Friends of SFG hopes to foster a growing athletic awareness among our children and community, not just within Gymnastics but in all sporting activities. By funding growth and development at all levels, we hope to encourage our youth to be engaged with the phyiscal aspect of their education, with the end goal that they become healthy, athletically involved adults.

How to Donate:

Donations to Friends of SFG are welcome by mail, or by phone using your credit card. Donations go directly to fund classes for schools, groups, or individuals and are fully tax deductible.
