Cassie began her gymnastics career at age 3 and was a Level 7 competitive gymnast in Santa Rosa during high school. She has 7+ years of coaching experience under her belt, working with children of all ages. When she isn't coaching at SFG, she enjoys river rafting and reading. Recreational Instructor Kara's love of gymnastics began at age five when her gym teacher began a tumbling team, which became nationally recognized. With practices sometimes up to five hours a day and doing as many back handsprings as humanly possible, she was hooked! At the age of 9, Kara was invited to train as a pre-olympic gymnast, however, with an injury and a family move to Europe, a new path was taken. With healing, she continues to enjoy competitions, workouts, and performing (gymnastics was always fun!) and even won a bronze in a large European competition.
At the age of 15, Kara and her coach started our own children's gymnastics program where she found the great love of teaching and coaching gymnastics. And now, continuing 30 years later, it is stronger than ever. What she enjoys most about teaching gymnastics is witnessing children facing their fears, going for it, all the while having fun.
Working with children/energy/movement have been life long passions and led to being an educator in many forms, including: preschool teacher, governess, rhythm/yoga instructor, and sharing extensive physical/mental rehabilitation therapies. Besides gymnastics, Kara enjoys sharing the healing arts (owns her own business since 1996), and love anything to do with the ocean, including kelp as a favorite food. You can find Kara on her bike and in/on the ocean throughout the Presidio & San Francisco. She also love to write and read. Her favorite book is Homer's Odyssey...the journey continues!
NANCY HAHN........ Recreational Instructor
Nancy is one of our 'Senior' staff members. Although part time, she loooooves teaching and we are very excited to have her. She used to be a higher level gymnast herself in her younger years, but never lost the love for this wonderful sport of gymnastics. Now her own kids are a little older (10 and 8) she has some time open in her schedule to do what she really likes and she is really good at: teaching gymnastics! ALEXIS KINARD.......Recreational Instructor Alexis started at San Francisco Gymnastics in 2002 as a recreational gymnast. She quickly moved up through the levels and joined the girls gymnastics team in 2004 where she competed level 5, 6, & 7. She is now in high school competing for her school's gymnastics team & coaching classes at SFG. When Alexis is not in the gym, she enjoys shopping, watching movies, dancing, and eating mashed potatoes. DEBBIE MARTIN.......Recreational Instructor Debbie lives a very active life! She was a ballerina for 12 years with the Oakland Ballet Company and she still exercises everyday (her favorites being walking & skiing). She has three grown children-2 boys and a girl who was a Level 10 gymnast. When Debbie does sit down, she enjoys writing, listening to music, and watching the Giants play baseball. DESIREE STREETER ........ General Manager
 Desiree Streeter is our manager who also happens to be a great coach! She was born in San Francisco and says that she started gymnastics at age four because her big sister was doing it. She participated in gymnastics competitively up to class IV & level 5 - 7. Desiree has been coaching since 1997, first for Daly City Gymnastics and then for SFG since 2002. She is a graduate of San Francisco State University receiving a B.A. in Business Administration. Her favorite foods are chocolate-covered strawberries and lasagna. Desiree likes to run, shoe shop, go to sporting events, and spend time with friends in her spare time.
JAMIE TA ...... Office Manager
Jamie is a native San Franciscan, who enjoys working our many families while coordinating our front desk. Jamie was never a gymnast, but admires those who are.
